Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. Introduction
- These terms of use (Terms) apply when you access or use https://medmock.com and any pages, tools and features made available through that domain (Website).
- These Terms govern general browsing of the Website. If you register for, access or purchase the MedMock platform or any credits or subscription, the separate terms and conditions governing such registration, access or purchase (Platform Terms and Conditions) apply and will prevail in relation to that use or purchase.
- By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. The Website is operated by VIRTUALPATIENTS LTD, a company incorporated in England and Wales with company number 16303492 and registered office at 2 St. Marys Road, Tonbridge, England, TN9 2LB, trading as “MedMock” (‘MedMock’, ‘we’, ‘our’ or ‘us’). Our VAT registration number is GB 519 0780 83. Any prices displayed on the Website include VAT.
- If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Website.
- We may change these Terms from time to time by updating this page. Where reasonably practicable, we will take reasonable steps to notify you of material changes (for example, by displaying a notice on the Website). Changes apply from the date stated in the updated Terms and will not retrospectively alter any transaction already concluded.
2. Access and use of the Website
You may browse the Website for your personal, non-commercial and lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms and applicable law. We may restrict or suspend your access to the Website at any time without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, without prejudice to any other right or remedy available to us.
3. Your obligations
You must not:
- copy, mirror, reproduce, translate, adapt, modify, sell, reverse engineer, decipher, decompile or disassemble any part of the Website, except as expressly permitted by law or with our prior written consent;
- use the Website or its content to develop, train, test, benchmark or improve a competing product or service;
- use, or attempt to use, the Website in a manner that is illegal or fraudulent or facilitates illegal or fraudulent activity;
- use, or attempt to use, the Website in a manner that may interfere with, disrupt or create an undue burden on the Website or the servers or networks that host the Website;
- use the Website with the assistance of any automated scripting tool, scraper, crawler, bot, data-mining tool, harvesting tool or other software, or scrape, extract, monitor, copy, index or republish Website Content, or use Website Content to train, fine-tune, validate or otherwise develop any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, except that search engines, AI assistants and other automated tools may access, crawl, index, summarise and use publicly accessible pages of the Website to the extent permitted by our robots.txt file (and with regard to any guidance we publish, such as our llms.txt file), or to the extent otherwise expressly permitted by us in writing or by applicable law. This permission does not extend to any authenticated, subscriber-only or paid areas of the MedMock platform, and does not permit anyone to use Website Content to develop, train, test, benchmark or improve a competing product or service;
- link to the Website in a way that is unlawful, misleading, defamatory or that falsely suggests an association with or endorsement by us;
- attempt to breach the security of the Website, or otherwise interfere with the normal functions of the Website, including by:
- gaining unauthorised access to Website systems or data;
- scanning, probing or testing the Website for security vulnerabilities;
- overloading, flooding, mailbombing, crashing or submitting a virus to the Website; or
- instigating or participating in a denial-of-service attack against the Website.
- provide false, misleading or inaccurate information through the Website;
- impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity; and
- upload, post, submit or share content that is inappropriate, offensive, unlawful, harmful, discriminatory, defamatory, infringing, confidential to another person, misleading, deceptive or otherwise unsuitable for the Website.
If you send us an enquiry, feedback or other material (Submission), you are responsible for it and confirm that you have the right to provide it. You grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use, copy and adapt the Submission as reasonably necessary to respond to you, operate and improve our services, and protect our legal rights. Do not send real confidential examination content, patient-identifiable information or other sensitive information unless we expressly request it through an appropriate channel.
4. MedMock platform
- The MedMock platform is a browser-based service that allows eligible users aged 18 or over, including medical students, international medical graduates preparing for PLAB, and doctors (including those preparing for specialty and consultant job interviews), to practise spoken clinical examinations and medical or professional interviews using AI virtual patients and examiners and to receive AI-generated marks and feedback. Registration, account use, subscriptions, credits and platform features are governed by our Platform Terms and Conditions, not these Terms.
- The Website and MedMock platform provide supplementary educational practice only. They do not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, professional training accreditation or an assessment instrument, and they do not guarantee any examination outcome. MedMock is not a medical device.
- AI-generated and other educational content may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. You must use your own judgement and consult authoritative clinical guidance and appropriately qualified professionals where relevant. Unless we expressly state otherwise, MedMock is not affiliated with or endorsed by any university, Royal College, examination board, regulator or other professional body.
5. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
- We use reasonable care to provide and maintain the Website, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty, condition, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Website Content is provided for general information and educational purposes only. You should not rely on it as medical, clinical, legal or other professional advice or as a substitute for independent study, official curricula or authoritative guidance.
- We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of your statutory consumer rights, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
- If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it was obvious that it would happen or if both you and we knew it might happen when you accepted these Terms. Subject to section 5(c), our total aggregate liability to you under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed £100.
- We provide the Website for domestic and private use. We are not liable for business losses. Nothing in this paragraph affects rights you may have where we have expressly agreed to supply you as a business under separate terms.
- Our liability in connection with registered use of the MedMock platform and related purchases is addressed in our Platform Terms and Conditions. Nothing in these Terms affects any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
6. Information on the Website
- While we use reasonable care to keep the Website available and its public content up to date, from time to time:
- the Website may have errors or defects;
- the Website may not be accessible at times;
- messages sent through the Website may be delayed or may not be delivered;
- communications sent over the internet may be delayed, intercepted or insecure despite reasonable safeguards; or
- Website Content may contain errors or become out of date.
- We may suspend, restrict, maintain, update, withdraw or change all or any part of the Website where reasonably necessary, including for security, maintenance, operational or legal reasons. We will try to give reasonable notice of material planned disruption where practicable. We are not liable for temporary unavailability outside our reasonable control, but this does not affect any rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Intellectual property
- The Website and all materials made available on it, including text, graphics, logos, designs, icons, clinical images, audio-visual materials, downloads, software and documentation (Website Content), are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual property laws. Some clinical images and other materials are used under third-party licences or subject to attribution notices displayed with them. Third-party names, trade marks and materials, including the names of examinations, universities, Royal Colleges and other professional bodies, remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
- You may access and view Website Content for your own personal, non-commercial informational purposes and may make a temporary electronic copy solely for that purpose. You must not otherwise reproduce, transmit, adapt, distribute, sell, license, modify, publish or commercially exploit the Website or Website Content without our prior written consent, except as permitted by law.
8. Links to other websites
- The Website may contain links to, or display content from, third-party websites and services. We do not control their content, availability, accuracy, security or privacy practices and are not responsible for them, except to the extent that applicable law makes us responsible. You access third-party websites and services at your own risk.
- A link does not imply our approval or endorsement unless we expressly say otherwise. You should review the third party’s terms and privacy information before using its website or service.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the Website but cannot guarantee that it will be free from viruses or malicious code. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage caused by a virus or other malicious code originating from the Website. You should use appropriate security software and keep your devices and browsers up to date. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Reporting misuse and security issues
If you become aware of misuse, a suspected security vulnerability, an error in Website Content or difficulty accessing the Website, please contact us promptly using the contact details under ‘How to contact us’. You must not publicly disclose a suspected vulnerability or access, alter or retain data beyond what is reasonably necessary to report it.
11. Privacy and cookies
Our collection and use of personal data through the Website are described in our Privacy Policy available at https://medmock.com/privacy. Our use of cookies and similar technologies is described in our Cookie Policy, and you can change your cookie choices at any time using the ‘Cookie settings’ link in the footer of our public pages or in Profile & Settings. Registered use of the MedMock platform and related purchases are also subject to the privacy information and terms applicable to that service.
12. Website and platform services
- The Website provides public information about MedMock and access to the MedMock platform. These Terms govern general browsing of public pages; our Platform Terms and Conditions govern registration, accounts, platform use, subscriptions, credits and other purchases.
- General Website information or a response to an enquiry does not itself create a contract for platform access or other services. Any consumer contract is formed only as stated in our Platform Terms and Conditions.
- If these Terms conflict with our Platform Terms and Conditions in relation to an account, subscription, credit purchase, payment, cancellation, refund or use of the MedMock platform, the Platform Terms and Conditions will prevail for that matter.
13. General
13.1 Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections of, and may bring proceedings in, your home jurisdiction. If you access the Website from outside the United Kingdom, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction (subject to any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence that cannot be displaced by agreement). Otherwise, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction in respect of disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
13.2 Waiver
No party to these Terms may rely on the words or conduct of any other party as a waiver of any right unless the waiver is in writing by the party granting the waiver.
13.3 Severance
Any term of these Terms which is wholly or partially void or unenforceable is severed to the extent that it is void or unenforceable. The validity and enforceability of the remainder of these Terms are not limited or otherwise affected.
