- The lead recruiter for genitourinary medicine is the Midlands.
- Genitourinary medicine is a Group 1 specialty: applicants need to have completed the internal medicine training (IMT) stage 1 programme or equivalent, and all programmes dual specialise with general internal medicine.
- The interview has two stations of 20 minutes each, with four questions of 10 minutes plus a communication mark, giving five scored areas and lasting approximately 50 minutes.
- Interviewees give a presentation of no more than 4 minutes on why they are interested in a career in genitourinary medicine and the evidence supporting their suitability and commitment.
- The specialty does not assess commitment to specialty at shortlisting, scoring applications purely on the self-assessment framework; commitment is assessed at the interview.
- To be appointable at interview, none of the ten interview scores can be 1/5, no more than two can be 2/5, and the raw interview score must be 30 or above.
