What is the Intensive Care Medicine ST3 interview, and how do you practise for it?
Intensive Care Medicine ST3 national interview, run online via Qpercom by the ICM National Recruitment Office: three 10-minute stations (a clinical scenario, commitment to specialty and task prioritisation), about an hour in all. In each station two assessors each award up to 20 marks across five domains and up to 4 marks for a global rating, so a station is worth 48 marks and the interview 144; at least 72 is needed to be appointable. Here, one examiner asks the questions. MedMock lets you practise it out loud against an AI interview panel, with examiner-style feedback on any station you finish.

Practise every scenario

Commitment to specialty
Questions on your understanding of intensive care medicine and its training pathway, your personal strengths and weaknesses, reflection on your experience, the wider NHS and its influence on intensive care, and your achievements to date.
Task prioritisation
A list of intensive care tasks given to you before you enter. You prioritise and manage the workload with the assessors, who add further information during the station.
